Jeez Louise, it was yet another snowy day in MA. Nonetheless, we had several contestants for the chili cook-off, as well as brewers and bottlers show up...
We had 5 chili entries, and danng were they all good! I wasn't going to be a judge, since I was the organizer, but... ;^) Seeing as I didn't have a chili in the competition, I couldn't help myself... Being a judge is not as easy as it seems. A perfect score was 350 points, and our winner came in at 286!
Daniela Decaro was our Chili Cook-0ff winner, and took home a prize of $50. Here is the winning chili recipe: Dani's One Chili Pepper Chili.
Mike's Rack & Horn Chili came in 2nd place with a score of 266 out of a possible 350. I thought this was a very nice smoky flavored recipe.
Dave's Boondocks Chili came in 3rd place, with a score of 263 out of 350. You can see by the scores that 2nd & 3rd place was VERY close. I liked Dave's recipe as well. This is a nice blend of peppers, chilies and meat.
We will be having a Chowder Cook-off the end of April. Details will be here on the web site soon. This should be another fun event!
Here are a few pictures. You can find more here.
